Practice Policies
CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:
-
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which therapists are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
-
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), therapists must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
-
If a client intends to harm himself or herself, therapists will make every effort to enlist their client's cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, therapists will take further measures without their permission that are provided to them by law in order to ensure their client's safety.
LATE CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
Please remember to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance of an appointment. If you do not cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance of an appointment or fail to show for an appointment, then you will be responsible for the entire session fee (e.g., $215 per hour), which includes both the insurance portion and client portion related to a session. This is because QUEST cannot bill insurance for missed sessions.

The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50-55 minutes. It is up to you, however, to determine the length of time of your sessions. Requests to change the session length need to be discussed with the therapist for time to be scheduled in advance.
PAYMENTS
Copays, co-insurance, and deductible payments are due at time of service. You are also responsible for any portion of session fees not covered by your insurance company; and these payments are due at the time QUEST receives notification from your insurance company. QUEST does not determine copay or deductible amounts. You should contact your insurance company to understand your coverage.

A $10.00 service charge will be charged for any check returned for any reason.
FEES
Our full session fees for fully licensed therapists are as follows:
-
First Session (Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation, 55 mins) – $225
-
55-minute session – $215
-
45-minute session – $185
-
30-minute session – $150
-
Family and couples’ sessions – $215

These are the amounts billed to insurance companies. Your insurance company then determines the amount you are responsible for. QUEST does not determine copay or deductible amounts owed.

Therapists in training and interns may be available for reduced fees.
TELEPHONE ACCESSIBILITY
If you need to contact your therapist between sessions, please leave a message on their voice mail. They are often not immediately available; however, they will attempt to return your call within 24 hours.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Due to the importance of your confidentiality and the importance of minimizing dual relationships, our therapists do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
Secure messaging through our electronic health records system (called SimplePractice) is our main form of communication with clients. Secure messaging is secure and HIPAA compliant. If you prefer to communicate by email, please be aware that you should not discuss therapeutic content or request assistance in emergencies. We will always strive to return all messages in a timely manner.
