QUEST Supports Solidarity!
QUEST Counseling and Consultation Center is inspired by and in support of those who are speaking out against continued racial injustice. Enough is enough! We hear you. We see you. We are here for you! It is time for systemic reform, safety, and equality for all people. QUEST stands with you and we commit to more intentional action to eliminate the systemic injustice, racism, and discrimination that so many in our communities endure.
We are listening and learning— Niquanna Barnett, MS, MFT, RPT will address our entire staff. She will provide invaluable insight on the systemic impact of historical and intergenerational trauma of oppressed people. We also have a therapist book club. We’ve committed our focus to better understand the impact of systemic trauma and ways we can be part of the solution.
We are acting— QUEST has initiated the exploration of organizations to support both emotionally and financially through this revolution of change. Stay tuned for more specific information.

QUEST is Taking Safety Precautions During the COVID-19 Pandemic
QUEST Counseling and Consultation Center is currently offering Telehealth Counseling and a limited amount of In-Person Counseling. With our Telehealth Counseling, you can enjoy the benefits of a counseling session from the convenience of your own home in a secure location. Using a secured system, our therapist will conduct an expert counseling session with you using video conferencing over the Internet.
Typically, insurance providers will not cover the cost of Telehealth Counseling; but recently most insurance companies have decided to make an exception due to the pandemic. You can contact your insurance company to confirm coverage; or you can call QUEST at (608) 567-4465 and speak with our office manager. If your insurance company does not cover Telehealth Counseling, QUEST will also accept direct payment which allows you to immediately obtain the counseling you or your family member needs.
If you and your therapist agree that In-Person Counseling is best, rest assured that QUEST is doing all we can to ensure a safe environment for our clients. Our practices reflect recommendations by both the CDC and the American Psychological Association. Some of our key practices include:
Clients - All clients are required to wear masks, wait in their cars until their therapist calls and asks them to enter, and to wash/disinfect their hands prior to entering.
Therapists - All therapists are required to wear masks, observe safe distancing, and stagger their office schedules in order to minimize the number of clients in the offices at one time.
Reception and Therapy Offices - All offices are disinfected on a daily basis, arranged to promote safe distancing, and contain AHAM-verified air purifiers.
Helping Our Clients Meet Their Goals
We enjoy working with each client individually to match their treatment needs and desired changes with the method of treatment. We work with children, adolescents and adults. We specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, those living with the impact of single incident or complex PTSD, and addictions. We focus on resolving distressing and/or traumatic life experiences. These experiences often keep us stuck in behaviors that are baffling and even debilitating at times. Efforts to change often feel overwhelming and defeating. Through EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and other focused strategies, we have assisted many clients with reprocessing the impact of ongoing or critical incident abuse, internalized homophobia, the trauma and abuse from growing up LGBTQIA+, as well as subjective forms of abuse. The goal of our therapeutic process is the implementation of new behavioral patterns and positive beliefs about one self. We believe the reprocessing of psychological distress provides individuals in depth healing and renewed emotional freedom.
We currently utilize EMDR in conjunction with other therapeutic strategies (e.g., Art therapy, DBT, and MBCT) to help individuals reprocess psychological difficulties connected to addictive behaviors, traumatic life experiences, as well as grief/loss. We also utilize EMDR to assist clients in overcoming performance anxiety (e.g., athletic performance, text anxiety). In addition, we also leverage an addiction recovery model to treat eating disorders, gambling addictions, substance abuse, and other behavioral addictions.
We work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our treatment specialization includes:
- Trauma Recovery
- PTSD (Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder)
- LGBTQIA+ Counseling
- Couples Counseling
- Family Counseling
- Parenting Support
- Attachment disorders
- Grief Counseling
- Work and Career issues
